An Unlikely Beginning
For Miguel Angel, the journey into the art world began somewhere rather unexpected: the financial markets.
Before founding Invest in Art, he established Compare the Financial Markets, a business connecting investors with opportunities across different asset classes. But while exploring the investment landscape, something caught his attention that went far beyond numbers, charts and financial returns.
It was art. Visiting galleries, meeting artists and speaking with gallery owners introduced him to a world that felt refreshingly different from traditional finance. The creativity, individuality and wonderfully eccentric personalities appealed to his own unconventional nature.
He had found his people.

As his passion developed, Miguel Angel began collecting artwork himself, recognising potential in artists who had yet to achieve widespread recognition.
One acquisition in particular stays with him: an early work by Alec Monopoly, which Miguel Angel recalls as among the first the artist sold in the UK. Bought for around £1,000 and later sold for considerably more, it was an experience that helped crystallise something he had been discovering for years.
